Meet our lovable pets of the week looking for forever homes at the RSPCA ACT Shelter!

Oscar and Mr Bubbles are this week’s friendly Pets of the Week! These lovely animals are waiting to find their perfect match. Think that could be you? Read more about them below!

Dog of the Week: Oscar

Here comes Mr Smiley! This boy’s joy is just ridiculous – he’s smiling morning, noon and night. We don’t have any photographs of him without a grin from ear to ear. Look at his photo again: this is the least smiley pic we could find!

He’s a Kelpie and has the typical energy level of a Kelpie: full throttle and ready to play. He loves toys, playing fetch, and zooming around. But he also loves affection and attention from people. Truthfully, it’s hard to say when he’s not happy because he’s always grinning!

But to keep that smile on his face long term, Oscar will need an active owner who works regular hours (and therefore has the time after work to play). Mr Smiley here probably won’t do too well sharing your attention with other smaller pets, so ideally, no cats or small dogs as existing pets.

If you think you have the energy and commitment to teach him new tricks and the right home (fenced yard essential), drop by the shelter and meet Oscar. He’ll obviously be happy to meet you!

Mr Bubbles

Cat of the Week: Mr Bubbles

This little guy is Mr Bubbles, a very handsome chap who needs an experienced cat owner to allow him to flourish. He’s in great shape, mind you, and very curious. But he will take a while to warm to you, that’s why he needs someone with a big heart and patience.

He hasn’t had much experience with people, which is why he’s so shy. But he’s shown marvellous improvements, coming out of his hideaway to see what’s going on and to eat.

In six months, we’re sure you’ll be wondering if he’s the same cat; he’ll warm up to you, he’ll explore and grow comfortable with his new surroundings and be your awesome furry friend.

Ideally, you’ll be used to the company of cats and have some space for Mr Bubbles to explore. He’ll go from nervous and shy to a wonderful companion in no time. Come and see!
