After seeing the weather reports for Sunday I was a bit worried that it would be too wet, cold and miserable to go on the RSPCA Million Paws Walk, but luckily enough it was bright and sunny, if not very warm. My beasts had a wonderful time and there was much sniffing of bottoms on the walk. Well done the RSPCA.

The Canberra Times have their report here.

Here are some of the puppies seen on the day.

The working dogs, AFP, Customs and Fire Fighting Dalmations.
As a bonus question worth 20 points (and no using teh interwebs), why are Dalmations associated with Fire Brigades?

Can I congratulate the volunteers for such a great day? I have done a few rspca events as a volunteer and it is _hard_bloody_work_!!!

So well done all the volunteers and thanks on behalf of the animals!

Had a thoroughly great time and my Miniature Dachshund made it the whole way around and was still pulling at the end!
Well done RSPCA, though going around the lake the other way might have been better to avoid congestion at bridges and to make walking into the wind a little easier. Great event, will be back next year.

I should think Beagles would be great at flyball, they are fox hounds and they run for miles, going over things. A pug though, that’s unusual! They’re such blocky little dogs.

I was thinking of letting the chihuahua drag me around the lake, but 9am was too early to get down there, and he’d have probably disgraced himself anyway, he’s in that phase where he falls in desperate love with every dog he meets.

Haha. As if the dogs wouldn’t have all jumped into that pool of water and had a fantastic wet old time. My dog would have.

Thanks for the photos che – I was having too much trouble with my two pups to take many photos.

It was a really great morning and good work to the RSCPA and their volunteers for putting on such a good event.

My arms are stills ore from carrying one of our 16 week old pups half way around the lake – apparantly 5km is too much in one morning!

Yes, it was a pug doing flyball!

There were also beagles, which surprised many beagle owners walking past 🙂

It does look like a great day – certainly saw happy pups when being driven past there on Sunday morning!

Toooo cute!

Nice shots, looks like a great day. Is that a Pug doing the flyball?!!
