Meet our lovable Pets of the Week at the RSPCA ACT Shelter looking for forever homes!

Lars and Sigrid, and a scruffy Wolf, are this week’s friendly Pets of the Week! These gorgeous animals are waiting to find their perfect match. Think that could be you? Read more about them below.

Cats of the Week – Lars and Sigrid

Meet two bonded cats, Lars and Sigrid! These two feline friends are looking for their forever home after being surrendered to the shelter. Lars is the slightly timider of the two and generally prefers people to approach him slowly. But when he sees Sigrid getting attention, he wants in on the action. Lars has a beautiful coat and will lovingly rub himself into you once he warms up.

Sigrid is more outgoing and confident. She loves asking for pats and chin scratches and will in no time be beelining straight into your lap for a snooze. Never one to shy away from a game, Sigrid will bat and roll with toys for as long as you’re willing to play with her.

This charming duo will need a quiet home environment, preferably without other pets and children. They are very happy being indoor-only cats, and if it weren’t for their feline appearance, they would best be described as lounge lizards.

They may take some time to settle in their new home but given time to adjust and get comfortable, you’ll be so thankful you adopted these two loving companions.

Dog of the Week – Wolf

Wolf is an aptly named delightfully scruffy wolfhound. He’s an energetic and friendly fellow who is looking for a new home. Wolf is quite playful but, surprisingly, is not much into playing with toys. Given enough encouragement and time, though, he might just be persuaded to chase a tennis ball or get into a bit of tug of war.

That said, Wolf shows he is happiest while he’s out on a long walk. This leggy boy is desperate to get out of the shelter and explore some new trails around Canberra with his owner. Sticking true to his wolfhound nature, he loves to sniff on hikes and follow his nose.

Wolf gets on well with other dogs and would be open to meeting a friendly playmate he can bond with. Because of his size, Wolf should be with a dog of equal stature. If you have older teens, Wolf would be a great companion for them and would definitely match them in energy.

Wolf can’t wait to meet his new family. If you’re looking for an active dog to stretch your legs with, book an appointment to meet him.

Visit the RSPCA at 12 Kirkpatrick St, Weston, and add a new companion to your life – you won’t regret it!
