Meet our lovable Pets of the Week looking for forever homes through the RSPCA ACT Shelter!
Merida and Hope are this week’s friendly Pets of the Week! These lovely animals are waiting to find their perfect match. Think that could be you? Read more about them below!
Dog of the Week: Merida
This sweet girl proved herself to be a sensational pet over the Christmas break. The photograph, supplied by her short-term foster carer over that period, is just one of many we received of them lounging around on the couch and smooching together!
She came to us nearly five months ago and she’s only just under two years of age, so she’s spent a quarter of her life at the RSPCA ACT shelter.
That shouldn’t be seen as a bad thing. (In that time she’s been walked twice each day and had volunteers socialising with her and teaching her great tricks (and manners.) This is a great dog.
Wait until you see her with her favourite little toy. She carries it everywhere she goes and it’s absolutely adorable. Merida is an American Staffy Terrier who would flourish in a stable home environment with her as the only pet.
Come and meet Merida.
Cat of the Week: Hope
Here’s a sob story to read over your Cornflakes. Hope, through no fault of her own, is back with us for the third time in her life! Her behaviour is great, it’s just rotten luck that’s led her back to us.
Hope likes to be the only cat in the house but she’s friendly; she’s going to want pats and a good brush, which she loves. She’ll be smitten with you in no time.
Canberra is full of cat lovers who appreciate how felines like Hope, once given the rule of the roost, become important household members and part of the family.
That’s Hope in a nutshell – strong-willed and desperate to be loved and petted, as long as she’s the only cat in the house.
Hope is what we have for this sweet girl. We hope you’ll come visit her and make her next stop her forever home.
Pawnote: Last week’s Cat of the Week, Taco, was adopted. Great work, Canberra. We’re still receiving a large number of kittens and puppies, so please encourage friends and family to desex their pets to avoid unwanted litters.
Visit RSPCA ACT today at 12 Kirkpatrick St, Weston, and add a new companion to your life. You won’t regret it!
