Good afternoon enwisened Riot-ACT readers…

I recently moved house, and was wondering if anyone would knew of any running tracks in the ‘open fields’ around the ACT/NSW border, at the back of dunlop.

Specifically, around this area:

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Not sure if you can get across the border without tresspassing. It’s pretty much all private property.

You used to be able to get the river at Ginninderra Falls but that’s been closed off.

Can you get down to the river?

I grew up in that very area. There are heaps of awesome walking/jogging trails out there. Trying going out to what’s left of the old Sewerage works behind the new Macgregor estate, that’s fun to check out.

Maybe you and your friends could petition the local Government to mark up some runner’s lanes on our roads? The five or so cyclists in Canberra have had quite a bit of success with their lobbying.

I guess you can’t count past 5 with your head rammed in your date

They can go in alongside the new horseriding lanes.

Mt Rogers has a good track, I run it most days.

There used to be a fitness track on mount Rogers in Flynn, but not sure if it is still there.

Failing that there is the horse trail which crosses Dunlop. Have a walk around the main road and you will see it cutting through the suburb heading towards Macgregor in one direction and Fraser in the other.

There’s the horse track from pond 2 (Fasifern) to Parkwood that all the mad running buggers in the area take. (off the Jarramalee homestead road off 62 Hugh McKay)

Try throwing ‘map my run’ into Google and checking out the website with the locale you desire
