Shooting in Gowrie; police execute search warrants

ACT Policing’s Criminal Investigations executed three search warrants this week in relation to the Gowrie shooting incident on Monday (February 2).

On Monday, police were called about 2.30am after the resident reported a number of shots fired into the home with three people inside. Police have since identified five shots were fired at the home.

Detectives from Criminal Investigations have been conducting enquiries into the shooting and acting on information received executed three search warrants over two days (February 5 and 6), in Florey, Cook and Richardson.

Drugs, suspected to be methyl amphetamine and cannabis, ammunition, a replica firearm and a car are among the items seized by police.

A gold Subaru WRX which police believe is linked to the incident was located burnt out in Uriarra on Monday.

A number of suspects have been identified and have been assisting police with their enquiries.

Police are urging anyone who may have information in relation to this incident or witnessed a gold Subaru WRX being driven on Monday to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via www.act.crimestoppers.com.au.
