Smith brothers very sorry about Duxton incident

Just for the Raiders fans who think we’re somehow biased we note an ESPN report on a broad spectrum of penalties for two very junior Brumbies who were involved in a very minor incident at Duxton.

Brumbies props Ruan Smith and Jean-Pierre Smith have been fined and forced to undergo counselling after being involved in a bar brawl in Canberra.

The brawl erupted at The Duxton Hotel on August 17, where the South African-born twins were watching The Rugby Championship Tests before heading to a private function. Police were called about midnight, but the crowd had dispersed by the time they arrived. No charges were laid and no one was seriously injured.

”We conducted an investigation of the incident, including all relevant parties … and following that there was a disciplinary hearing and the players have been found in breach of our code of conduct and a range of penalties were put in place,” Brumbies chief executive Andrew Fagan told Fairfax Media
