
An unmarked police vehicle has caught a speeding drunk driver who was four times over the legal limit on Tuesday afternoon (12 March).
Around 2:25 pm, officers in an unmarked vehicle were overtaken by a speeding blue Ford Falcon utility on the Tuggeranong Parkway heading towards Belconnen.
Police allege the vehicle reached speeds estimated to be in excess of 150km per hour.
Police stopped the utility and the driver was subjected to a roadside breath test which returned a positive result.
The driver was then conveyed to City Police Station where he underwent further analysis, returning a result of 0.227, which is more than four times the legal limit for a full licence holder.

The 44-year-old Jerrabomberra man was charged with high-range drink-driving, aggravated dangerous driving and speeding.
The man has been granted bail and will be summonsed to appear before the ACT Magistrates Court at a later date.
