If you can’t feel a storm coming on you need to work at your observation skills.

But the bureau has a warning.

Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding and damaging winds over the next several hours in the South Coast, Central Tablelands, Southern Tablelands, South West Slopes, Snowy Mountains, Australian Capital Territory and parts of the Illawarra districts. Locations which may be affected include Batemans Bay, Eden, Orange, Bathurst, Katoomba, Canberra, Goulburn, Cooma, Yass, Bombala, Young and Tumbarumba.

Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds over the next several hours in the Riverina and parts of the Central West Slopes and Plains districts. Locations which may be affected include Dubbo, Parkes, Condobolin, Wagga Wagga, Albury, West Wyalong, Griffith and Narrandera.
