Teenagers charged following alleged assault of several people at Costco

Three teenagers have been charged following an incident at Costco, which saw multiple people allegedly attacked.

It’s believed the trio entered the Majura Park store at about 5 pm on Tuesday (12 September) before allegedly assaulting several staff members.

They’re also accused of assaulting several members of the public before fleeing the area on foot.

The trio were arrested a short time later in a nearby car park and have been scheduled to front ACT Children’s Court today (13 September).

A 13-year-old boy from the Gungahlin area has been charged with breach of bail and five counts of common assault, while a 16-year-old from the same region has been charged with unlawful possession of stolen property, two counts of possessing a knife and two counts of common assault.

A 16-year-old girl from the Tuggeranong region has been charged with five counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

Police have already spoken to a number of witnesses; however, they believe there are other witnesses and members of the public – including those who were allegedly assaulted – who have not yet spoken to officers.
