A five-year-old boy has ended up in hospital with serious injuries after allegedly being assaulted by a teenager in Monash.

Police said the boy’s family were at Monash Park Playground on Friday (25 August) between 4:30 pm and 5 pm, where a teenager was allegedly riding a motorised mountain bike “erratically” in the local drains and parklands.

It’s believed the teen headed towards the playground and assaulted the five-year-old boy while on the bike before fleeing the scene.

The boy was seriously injured and taken to hospital by ACT Ambulance Service paramedics. He is now recovering at home.
