The CSIRO is letting you know about the Great Canberra Science Scramble kicking off on 12 August.
The Science Scramble encourages people to get out and explore some of the many little-known aspects of science and technology in the national capital. Created especially for the Canberra community, the event features 4 separate challenges suitable for people of all ages and abilities.
The challenges must be completed during the 10 days of National Science Week. The competition opens at 12 noon on Friday 12th August and closes exactly 10 days later, at 12 pm on Monday 22nd August.
Entry is open to anyone who has obtained the free Science Scramble Map, which provides coordinates and clues for a wide range of locations. Entrants must get to each location and correctly solve a science challenge to score points. The higher the point score, the greater the chance of winning the major prize – a family-of-four holiday to Cairns.
Bonus prizes can also be scored along the way, by sending in the free Science Scramble postcard, by uploading photos to the event photo gallery, or by finding the 5 hidden Sunsmart icons at locations around the CBD. There’s hundreds of prizes to be won, so get ready to Scramble!
