As a follow-up to their ‘standards’ EP “Felix” (2014), “From The Hip” sees The Escalators craft 5 original compositions that honour their swing, soul & reggae roots, and pay their respects on 2 classic jazz tunes.
The lead single ‘Open Fire’ is receiving airplay across the country & reached #1 on the Triple J Unearthed ‘Roots’ Chart, supported by a cool video filmed around their home town.
The gorgeous tone of Jenny Blunden’s voice embraces you & steals your heart. Lachlan Mackenzie’s guitar lines are draped over a rhythmic framework rich in interplay between Bradley Parson’s upright bass & the drum kit captained by Hayden Moore.
Audiences can expect to be romanced by their nonchalant sophistication & compelled to dance to the irresistible rhythms that are the cornerstones of The Escalators’ charm.
