Let me take you on a look in at a home in Turner that won the MBA National Medium Density Housing – Townhouse & Villa’s award in 2019.

Glen is the director at DNA Architects, and he proudly took me through his own townhouse with Ross Norwood, a fellow director at DNA Architects, and Andrew Mills, director at Bellevue Building.

What makes this two-story, three-bedroom villa special is that it was custom-designed to suit Glen’s living needs, aesthetic likes and architectural embellishments.

It features a striking internal Japanese-inspired courtyard, internal and external wooden panelling and many nature-themed elements like the green foliage splashbacks and full wall beach shower image as a nod to Glen’s love of nature.

The backyard is actually a backyard times two, one private and one shared with the neighbours. The views from the balcony show off the best of Turner and Haig Park, and the underground garage has to be seen to be believed.

This townhouse showcases an exemplary use of materials, custom design and engineering, and hence the HIA award.

Let’s meet Glen and his project partners.

Take a look inside.
