On Friday night, pop punk wonder Bec Sandridge will be in town, playing the UC Hub from 7 pm with Neko Pink and Teen Jesus & The Jean Teasers. Meanwhile, classic Australian ’90s band The Superjesus are celebrating the 20th anniversary of their debut hit album Sumo with a huge tour, and they’re be hitting MOLO Live from 8 pm. Smith’s will be holding their own Oktoberfest celebrations with Bec Taylor and Pork Knuckle Brass Band, while The Basement will be hosting their own set of classic Australian acts in 1927 and Pseudo Echo, playing from 8 pm.
On Saturday, Rose Cottage will be putting on the Spring Country Music Festival in conjunction with the Country Music Association of Canberra, in support of drought-affected farmers, with performances by Hayley Jensen and Urban Drover. Old Canberra Inn will be putting on their own festival dedicated to reggae, with Australian rocksteady acts King Tide and Kinksky taking the stage. Later at night, Melbourne soul queen Kaiit will be touring her EP “Live From Her Room” at Transit Bar, playing with Adrian Eagle and Jannah Beth, while UK punk legends Uproar will be playing with a big stack of loud bands at the Pot Belly, starting 4 pm.
