Kallidad (pictured), based in Sydney but no strangers to the nation’s capital, will be bringing their bizarre yet potent blend of Mexican mariachi and blazing heavy metal this Saturday as part of their Flamingo Tour 2019. Check them out at Smith’s Alternative, this Saturday from 9.30 pm.
On Friday, Badrapper will be bringing his beats to CBR, playing with Luc1d and local Brittany De Marco over at the UC Hub from 8 pm. Meanwhile over at the Polish White Eagle Club, legendary CBR duo My Pet Ant will be calling it quits to the music scene, playing their last ever gig with help from Ghost Boy, Lady Denman and Endrey from 8 pm.
While Kallidad play Smith’s on Saturday, over at The Basement is QuestFest, with a stack of bands in the vein of “folk metal fantasy music”, including Beast Impalor, Awaken Solace, Saralisse, Oberon and much much more, starting from 6 pm. UC Hub will be staging locals Young Monks from 8 pm, while the Pot Belly puts on a raging show starring Loud So Clear, Sally Chicane, The Pretty Bones and Translucent View, from 8 pm. Lastly, check out the fantastic Barren Spinsters as they take to the stage on Sunday, opening for Butterfingers and Fresh Violet over at The Basement, starting from 8 pm.
