Slowly Slowly will be coming all the way from Melbourne to promote their second album, “St. Leonards”, described as a lyrically dense snapshot of lead singer Ben Stewart, showcasing his particular gift for storytelling through the art of song. Check them out as they play at the UC Hub on Friday from 7 pm, along with Jacob all the way from Wollongong and Canberra’s very own songsmith Azim Zain.

Soundscapes is on again this Thursday, with my favourite noise band of all time Speed Ball playing live at Smith’s Alternative, with Low Flung and Adelaidethegirl, from 9:30 pm. Also on Thursday one of Australia’s biggest hardcore bands, Deez Nuts, will be taking the stage at MOLO Live, along with Imprisoned, Underminer, Autumb and Kid Presentable.

If you’re a big fan of heart-achin’ country music then you cannot miss The Black Horses playing with The Dreamlanders at the Austrian Australian Club, starting from 7:30 pm on Friday. Meanwhile at The Phoenix, it’s Rocktoberfest, with a solid line-up for the night including Slow Dial, Organic Mechanic, AxiomaticT and Dalmacia from 8 pm. And over at Transit Bar, Listener will be bringing their unique brand of Talk Music, playing with local bands Lefty and Signs & Symbols. This weekend is looking big already, and I haven’t even gotten to Saturday yet! Check out more details below!
