Tragedy on the road as 54-year-old man dies in single-vehicle crash

A 54-year-old man has died following a single-vehicle crash in Murrumbateman, about 40 kilometres from Canberra.

About 9:50 am today (Sunday 15 April), emergency services were called to Murrumbateman Road, about 500m north of Bush Lane, after reports a Nissan X-Trail struck a tree.

The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle died at the scene.

Officers from the Hume Police District established a crime scene, which was forensically examined by specialist police.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
