The jaws of life have been used by ACT Fire & Rescue (ACTF&R) crews to free two men from a car on George Street in Oaks Estate.

ACTF&R and the ACT Ambulance Service (ACTAS) were called to the incident at 4pm.

The men, one aged in his 40s and the other in his 50s, were treated by intensive care paramedics and taken to The Canberra Hospital with facial injuries. Both are in a stable condition.

Two pumpers and a commander were in attendance from ACTF&R, along with two vehicles and a duty officer from ACTAS.
