This in from the folks at TADACT:
Technical Aid for the Disabled, ACT (TADACT) is excited to announce its first BIG Charity Event “Walk A Loop”. Our bridge to bridge 5km walk is being held at 9pm on Friday 2 December and 8am on Saturday morning 3 December 2011.
We have local identities walking the loop including Players from The Raiders, The Canberra Capitals, Futsalroo’s (National Indoor Soccer Team) and The Canberra Knights, Biggzy (MIX 106.3), Andrew Lock (First Australian to climb all 14 of the World’s Highest Mountains), Danielle Post (WIN News), Michael Milton (Paralympian), Ken Nichols (CEO of The Canberra Times) and Genevieve Jacobs (ABC Radio) walking to help raise much needed funds for such a worthwhile organisation. All monies raised from this event will go towards ensuring that TADACT is able to continue providing customized equipment for kids with a disability within the Canberra region.
‘The Raiders are proud to be involved and I’m looking forward to spending some time down by the lake walking the loop,” he said. “It’s great to see an event like Walk a Loop happening and most importantly the smiles on everyone’s faces who take part in the walk’ – Matt McIlwrick from The Canberra Raiders
‘I am so proud to support such an active charity in their efforts to run a new Canberra event. The evening walk around Lake Burley Griffin will be a lot of fun and anyone can do it. Come and join us.’ – Michael Milton Paralympian TADACT Ambassador
