Weird behaviour by Assembly staffer

We all are aware that the ACT Assembly has its fair share of wacky representatives – Smyth, Katy, Burke, Fosky, Steve Pratt, Karen MacDonald, Hargreaves etc.

Perhaps it has something to do with the staff they employ.

We all fondly remember Stanhope’s graffiti artist Aidan Bruford. And I read here recently in RiotACT how the ‘wonderful’ Jacqui Burke once wanted to hire Ian Hirst, who was recently acquitted of murder.

Now another wacky staffer, Amy ? has discredited her office. She works for Brendan Smyth and tried to beat the 2pm embargo on the Budget papers by taking the papers from the lock up and taking them to the female toilets. Treasury officials were tipped off and they ‘stripped’ them off her but she apparently still managed to get away with some copies.

Jorian Garner from the ShityNews raised a relevant point – “where did she hide them”. Well, all I can say is that I hope Brendan Smyth didn’t mind the stained copies.

From what I understand, this Amy still has her job in Smyth’s office so Smyth must condone her actions. Of course, this says a lot about Brendan Smyth contempt for the Assembly and parliamentary procedures.

Are there any other Assembly staffers that have discredited themselves in their time of service that I have forgotten?

Did Brendan sniff the papers like his fellow Liberal mate did with the seat?

I think you will find the Government was supposed to relase embargoed copies of the Budget to the other members of the Assembly at 1pm but failed to do so, hence why the resort to “weird behaviour”. But I can understand why the government wanted to hide something that is a load of bs.

Here we go again with the Smyth bashing (not that he’s a favourite of mine), by George Lemon – you remember George he’s the one who got sacked from Humphries for running his boss and anyone else in the Liberal Party who didn’t agree with him, along with good friend the 7 year Il Presidente of the Libs Gary Kent who ran the Libs like Hitler ran Nazi Germany. Kent can’t be in the same coffee shop as Smyth without snarling at him. I see that Kent is running as a candidate for the libs – yeah right – he’s running to take over the assembly with his “friend” Richard Mulcahy.

Bashing Smyth staffers won’t help your cause; the people of Canberra are much smarter than you think.

There was also that arseclown in Humphries office who thought it was ok to receive and keep emails intended for Bill Wood soon after the first election that Stanhope won. He eventually resigned when it all got a bit ugly.

While I have no information on the incident in question, I think it may be relevant that the embargo on the ACT budget is 3pm, not 2pm.

I didn’t know Waylon Smithers had any credibility to comment on!

I agree, and if Brendan Smith hasn’t done anything about his ataffer, or perhaps he encouraged her, well it says a lot about Brendan Smith’s credibility.

There was that chick (Jenny?) in Humphries office that attended a meeting and made a fool of herself and didn’t identify that she worked for the Senator. There was Nairn’s chief of staff’s embarrassing run in with the ALP’s Mike Kelly. Nairn junior staffer Justin Dedomenico also embarrassed his boss when he tried to gate crash a Rudd press conference. And of course there was Margo and Roland.

I guess if you pay peanuts you’ll get monkeys

LOL Ant

Well, there’s that drunk bloke… oh hang on, he’s a minister.
