The Rotary Club of Canberra and the National Trust are bringing back Canberra’s answer to the antique roadshow and even have a facebook event:

We believe that just about every home contains hidden treasures. Whether they be family heirlooms passed on through the generations, a painting, old coins or a stamp collection, or perhaps something that you may have purchased overseas. Whatever the item we’d be pleased to give you an idea of its monetary worth. So bring your hidden treasures along to The Albert Hall on the 22nd of April, because our team of experts will be only too happy to tell you “What it’s Worth”.

Come and meet Brad Argent from ancestry.com as well as the good people from the Heraldry & Genealogy Society of Canberra. Not only can they help you with family history, but together with our assessors, help put your objects into their historical context.

Interstate and local experts will be on hand to assess:

— Jewellery (estate & costume), gems
— Porcelain, glass, ceramics
— Stamps, notes & coins
— Silver & other metal wares
— Paintings, antiques
— Old books & documents
— Clocks & watches
— Militaria
— Tribal arts.

In fact, if you can carry it, we’ll try and value it.
