Woman hospitalised after Merimbula shark attack

A woman has been hospitalised after reportedly being attacked by a shark at Merimbula just before 7:00 am on Saturday morning (13 March).

A witness said the 63-year-old was struck in the back. She was subsequently treated for wounds on her back, hip and buttocks and is in a stable condition at the South East Regional Hospital.

Both Merimbula and Pambula beaches have been closed.

Surf Live Saving drones are conducting surveillance in the area.
