I love the people that populate that part of the city. Such an array of characters.
I probably have told this story before, but a late mate (well, he was extant at the time) was walking with a bunch of us through the square when a young fire twirler woman overheard my mate say he’d always wanted to try fire-twirling. She raced up, beckoned him over and showed him the basics and got him to have a go.
It’s only just occurring to me now that she said something like, you can’t die without doing the things you want to do. And a year or so later he was dead.
