Communities@Work have the exciting news that they’ve teamed up with the Vikings Clubs to take those pesky brats off your hands:

The Vikings Group in conjunction with Communities@Work are proud to be launching the Communities@Work’s Vikings Sports School Holiday Program. Commencing on Monday 6 January 2014, the program will provide high quality care with engaging and stimulating activities for children from Kindergarten to Year 6. Fifteen of the Vikings Affiliated Sporting Clubs will be volunteering their time and resources to run a diverse and exciting sports experience throughout the entirety of the program, with activities ranging from pony riding to broomball.

The program aims to provide affordable child care for families over the holiday period, with an emphasis on sport, to demonstrate and promote the benefits of a healthy lifestyle and physical activity. The program provides an excellent opportunity for children to try out sports they wouldn’t normally get the chance to be involved in.

“With Vikings and their Affiliated Clubs jumping on board, we are able to provide a varied and affordable sports school holiday program, encompassing more than your standard holiday care. It encourages children to be outside learning and playing”, says Lynne Harwood, CEO of Communities@Work. “With pony rides on Viking Park and fishing in Lake Tuggeranong, I truly believe that all the children involved willhave a great time.”

For Anthony Hill, CEO of The Vikings Group, the opportunity to provide a program of this kind is something he is very proud of. “The children enrolled in the program will get to try their hand at many sports. The health and fitness benefits of this program alone is extraordinary and something that couldn’t be done without the support of our Affiliated Clubs and Communities@Work,” Anthony stated.

The Communities@Work’s Vikings Sports School Holiday program is now open for enrolments; email enrolments@commsatwork.org or call 1300 212 273 or visit either
