Grass fires extinguished in Acton

Fire services extinguished grass fires in Acton on Wednesday.

Twelve units from ACT Fire & Rescue and the ACT Rural Fire Service worked with ACT Parks to control the fires near Parkes Way.

Meanwhile, police are investigating a grass fire in Kaleen on Tuesday.

ACT Fire & Rescue contacted police about 3pm to report the fire in grassland along Ginninderra Drive between Baldwin Drive and Braybrook Street.

The fire was extinguished and handed to ACT Policing.

Anyone who witnessed anything suspicious at the location between 2.30 and 3pm are urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 (free call) or via the website act.crimestoppers.com.au, quoting reference number 5953427.
