Genevieve Wauchope, Executive Director of the Canberra Environment Centre, is inviting us along to think about and discuss what Canberra should look like for the next 100 years.
Does the Canberra you want to live in have higher density living areas? Does it have community vegetable gardens in public parks or recycling stations throughout Civic? Where are the light rail stops, and can we have a mix of urban residential and shopping areas? It is time for the people of Canberra to talk about designing the city that we want to live in.
Canberra’s own sustainable planning visionary Professor Barbara Norman will lead a public discussion focusing on the next 100 years of development in Canberra as part of the Canberra Environment Centre’s Sustainability Network events.
The discussion will take place on Saturday the 27th April from 2.30pm at the Fenner Seminar Room, Australian National University. Entry is free and everyone is invited to come and join the discussion.
Professor Norman provides strategic policy advice to all levels of government on urban and coastal planning issues. She is the past national president of the Planning Institute of Australia and recently chaired the national CAPITheticAL awards. The Sustainability Network provides a forum for all those interested in sustainability to engage with issues impacting our community.
