New Acton has again played host to the Hustle and Scout Markets over the weekend. Event founder Tegan McAuley has outdone herself for the Autumn installment of this quarterly event, with plenty of interesting attractions to keep the crowds entertained throughout the day.

The event featured 32 Australian designers, makers and collectors offering designer and vintage fashion, jewellery, accessories and fashion-related books. Thirteen of these stallholders were new to the market; with Tegan noting how impressed she was by the calibre of applicants she received.

The event caters to the savvy Canberra consumer looking for quality local made, vintage and environmentally conscious fashion and accessories. The market has been described as slightly left of centre (check out the ad for Saturday’s market if you need more convincing on this point!).

As well as the impressive array of products on offer, FASHFEST put on a show with their food-fashion-fusion live photoshoot. They also created an interactive experience for attendees with their ultimate selfie photo booth. You can check the photos out here and tag yourself if you participated!

The live music provided by Kaleid and DJ Faux Real coupled with the lighting effects further added the energetic vibe, which somehow managed to fill two levels of the Nishi Building.

According to event organisers, this weekend’s market was the most successful yet with record numbers milling past throughout the afternoon and evening.

Let us know what your favourite part of the market was and if you’re planning on heading to the next market in Winter in the comments!
