ACT Policing is investigating a collision that occurred on Ashley Drive, Monash this morning, (Sunday 6 December).

About 1.40am, Tuggeranong patrol members responded to reports of a collision involving a motor vehicle and a pedestrian.

When police arrived at the scene they observed a male lying on the side of the road surrounded by a number of persons. Witnesses indicated to police that a white Ford Falcon sedan had first swerved to avoid the male who was walking along Ashley Drive.

It is believed the white Ford Falcon sedan has then struck the side of the male who was thrown to the ground on impact. The vehicle slowed before fleeing the scene.

ACT Ambulance attended and treated the male at the scene. He was later conveyed to The Canberra Hospital.

Police would like to speak to the driver of the white Ford Falcon sedan or anyone who witnessed the incident who has not yet spoken to police.

Information can be provided by contacting Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via act.crimestoppers.com.au.
