In an occurrence that is possibly signalling the end of times FM104.7 and JJJ both have the same feature album for the week, The Cat Empire – 2 Shoes.

The J’s have been well bought no question.

But they still play a more interesting mix than the commercials.

Having said that with their patina of cool JJJ have lead a whole generation down a garden path and stunted true alternative culture.

Why are you surprised? Considering JJJ as alternative is a joke. Look at the hottest 100 winners. The last ones on an indie label were the Whitlams *aaargh*. They were followed by Offspring (Sony)MMM boys Powderfinger (Universal), Mix 106 favourite Alex Lloyd (EMI), QOTSA (Interscope), Jet (EMI), Franz Ferdinand (Sony). How alternative is that?
Solution: Listen to JJJ only late nights (Roots, Fenella, Punk)and tune into 2XX, RRR on the web,
webradios and of course Insatiable Banalities on Riot-act (good job Johnboy and Nigel!!!) to find real alternative music.

though polyphonic spree were pretty cool.

Give me My Bloody Valentine and The Hard Ones.

Thank you Landspeed.

the video is a throwback to the worst of the 80’s. he thinks he from dexys midnight runners.

I can’t stand the Cat Empire. I bought their last CD, hated it, and flogged it off on eBay.

I know its a bit of a stretch for Canberra related stuff but FM 104.7 are ours even if everything is handed to them from afar.

And there was no way I was putting this under “Local Music” so don’t any of you other buggers change it on me.
