ACT Policing Collision, Investigation and Reconstruction Team (CIRT) are investigating a collision between a car and a motorbike that resulted in the death of the motorcyclist in Isaacs on Saturday night June 19, 2010.
Police were called to the intersection of Yamba Drive and Julia Flynn Avenue, Isaacs around 8.30pm on Saturday night. The motorbike rider was travelling south on Yamba Drive on a blue Suzuki GS500 motorcycle when the collision occurred with a white Toyota Corolla.
The rider, a 24-year-old male from Mawson, died the following day in hospital.
Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the collision or seen the motorbike being ridden before the collision and is yet to speak to police to contact Crime Stoppers

ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to a road incident in Page this afternoon Friday, June 18, 2010 in which a motorcycle was forced to take evasive action to avoid a collision, resulting in serious injuries to the rider and pillion passenger.
The incident occurred around 2.15pm today at the intersection of Petterd and Herrgott Streets in Page.
The motorcycle, a black Suzuki GSXR750, had been travelling westbound on Petterd Street when it is believed that a vehicle entered from Herrgott Street, forcing the rider, a 22-year-old male from Hawker, to take immediate evasive action.
The bike fell to the roadway, resulting in serious injuries to the rider and his pillion passenger, a 20-year-old female from Flynn. The female pillion is four months pregnant.
Both rider and pillion were conveyed to hospital where the rider is reported to be in a critical condition and the passenger is serious.
Police are seeking to locate the driver of a white or silver Holden Commodore sedan, possibly an early 1990s model, which was involved in the incident but failed to stop and render assistance. There was one male driving the vehicle at the time of the incident.
Any witnesses who may have seen the vehicle as described, or may have any information about the incident and can assist the investigation is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.

3. Thuggies moving up in the world:
ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to four aggravated robberies that occurred over the weekend, with two occurring in Dickson, one in Red Hill and one in Woden.
About 1.25am on Saturday 19 June, four males were walking along Antill Street, Dickson, when they were approached by five males. As the four males attempted to walk through the group an assault has occurred. One of the victims has had his backpack taken from him by two of the offenders and a wallet was stolen from another victim.
About 10.45pm on Saturday 19 June, a 22-year-old male of Asian appearance was pulled from his bicycle and punched in the face by up to four males at the Dickson shops. The victim’s glasses were dislodged during the assault and due to his poor eyesight he was unable to provide further descriptions of the offenders. The offenders took off into a nearby car park with the victim’s money. They were seen to get into two vehicles, one a sedan and the other a utility (ute).
About 11pm on Saturday 19 June, a 29-year-old female was walking along Cygnet Crescent, Red Hill, with two friends when the occupants of a blue Holden Commodore approached them. The occupants of the car consisted of one male and three females. The male has chased one of the friends while one of the females has grabbed the victim, struck her and dragged her to the ground. The victim’s purse, mobile phone and camera were stolen from her before the offending female entered the blue Commodore and left the area.
On Sunday 20 June, police arrested a juvenile female alleged to have stolen a backpack from a person at the Woden Bus Interchange that day. The juvenile has been remanded to appear in the Children’s Court at a later date. Police are calling for any witnesses to contact Crime Stoppers.
Police are urging any witnesses to the aggravated robberies who have not yet spoken to police or who can provide any other information to contact Crime Stoppers.

4. Woden Blaze:
ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to a fire at Woden Plaza early this morning Friday 18 June, 2010.
About 2.28am, police attended the location where the fire had been extinguished by the ACT Fire Brigade. Upon arrival, police observed that the fire was in a large garbage hopper located in an external loading dock on Keltie Street.
No structural damage was caused to Woden Plaza as a result of the fire.
Police reviewed CCTV footage at the location, and identified a male lighting the hopper before fleeing the scene. He is described as Caucasian, between 25 to 30-years-old, approximately 175cm (5’9”) tall with a medium build and receding short brown hair. He was wearing a red jumper and blue jeans at the time of the offence.
Anyone who recognises the description of the above male person, or witnessed any suspicious activity at Woden Plaza around the time of the fire is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.

5. Ute found:
An 18-year-old Isaacs man will face the ACT Magistrates Court this morning, after being arrested on Saturday June 19, charged with numerous traffic and property offences.
Police will allege the man was the driver of a stolen yellow utility from a burglary in Rohan Street, Richardson last week. The burglary occurred between 10.30pm Thursday 17 June and 7am Friday 18 June where a laptop computer, four trail bikes and the yellow utility were stolen.
About 11:40am on Friday June 18, the stolen yellow utility was sighted and pursued by police in Conder, however the pursuit was terminated. The vehicle was later recovered in Bonython.
The 18-year-old is charged with dangerous driving, drive motor vehicle without consent, unlicensed driver, and receiving stolen property.

6. Rider named:
ACT Policing has released the name of the motorcycle rider who died as a result of the two-vehicle accident at the Yamba Drive and Julia Flynn Avenue intersection in Isaacs which occurred on Saturday June 19.
The deceased is Jonathon Edward Burrell, aged 24 years, of Mawson.
A report on the incident is being prepared for the ACT Coroner.
