Canberrans, start your engines. And sharpen your skates. And warm up your gaming thumbs. And, ah, polish your putter!?
If you’re feeling the need for speed, your Friday night options just got a whole lot more interesting. But if you don’t want to miss out, you’ll need to act fast.
The Power Kart Raceway in Fyshwick is something of a local institution. That iconic green, black and white building off Canberra Avenue is loved by many for birthday parties, Christmas parties, corporate events, or just a few laps on the weekend with your mates.
If you’ve been looking for an excuse to get back there, or even to check it out for the first time, the Power Play event this Friday is the chance you’ve been waiting for.
That’s because a strictly limited number of people – just the first 200 customers to book – are going to get the ‘master key’ to the whole centre for one night only.
Yep. You’ll have Karting, Glow-In-The-Dark Mini Golf, Synthetic Ice Skating and selected Arcade Machines all to yourself, for six hours straight.
This is a rare opportunity that only pops up two or three times a year – or ‘once in a Green Moon’, as Power Karts Media and Marketing Manager Dan Rawson puts it.
“This really is the ultimate night to just come along and try everything,” he said.
“It’s easily the biggest night on our calendar each year, and there’s no experience needed or special skills necessary, everyone is welcome,” said Dan.
The Power Play night is indeed a great opportunity to bring the whole family along. While you have to be six years or over to ride the Go-Karts, all other activities are open to accommodate the younger members of your team and keep them occupied.
“Our customers include families, young thrill-seekers, mums and dads, adults young at heart and grandparents,” said Dan.
“We really do have activities for all ages, and we’ve deliberately limited the numbers for Power Play so everyone gets the unlimited experience and a chance to try all of our activities within the six hours.
“But that means we will also likely sell out. So I’d urge everyone to get in fast and grab their tickets as soon as they can, to avoid missing out,” he said.
Power Play kicks off at 4 pm and finishes at 10 pm this Friday 22 February. The cost is $60 per person and you can grab your tickets online now through the Facebook page.
