The Department of Territory and Municipal Services are letting us know they’ve been hard at work patching Canberra’s decaying roads:
This year to date 3000 potholes on ACT roads have been repaired, 1300 more than for the
same period last year, Ken Marshall, Manager of Road Maintenance Services, announced today.“The extended wet weather period experienced this year has intensified the need to boost road maintenance staff to fill the increased number of potholes,” Mr Marshall said.
“The increase in wet weather combined with stronger traffic flows can create additional potholes on highly trafficked sections of road such as the Barton Highway, Gungahlin Drive and Sutton Road.”
