Police are searching for a man who left the scene of a crash where a child’s bike was hit by a car.
At about 3:05 pm on Thursday (23 June), a primary school student riding their bike on a designated children’s crossing on Knox Street in Watson had their front wheel clipped by a dark grey or black vehicle.
The child then fell from their bike.
Police said the man driving the vehicle initially stopped, but after being asked to attend a school office to exchange details, he drove away via Windeyer Street.
Police have urged the man to contact them by calling 131 444 or attending any police station in the ACT.
Any witnesses to the crash or anyone with dashcam video from Knox Street or Windeyer Street at the time of the incident has also been asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, quoting reference 7142813.
