Police arrested a man yesterday after two cars collided head-on near Goulburn.
A man has been arrested and charged with predatory driving after two vehicles crashed on the Laggan Road at Crookwell, on Saturday afternoon, 6 May.
Emergency services were called to the site at 12:15 pm, about 45 kilometres north-west of Goulburn, after reports of the crash.
It’s understood that a SUV travelling southbound and a hatchback travelling northbound collided head-on in the northbound lanes, with the hatchback rolling a number of times.
The driver of the hatchback, a woman, 59, and her passenger, 48, were both trapped in the vehicle before they could be freed by Fire and Rescue NSW emergency crews.
They were treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Goulburn Hospital for treatment.
Both women were reported to be in a stable condition with non life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the SUV, a man, 53, was not injured.
Officers attached to the Hume Police District established a crime scene, which was examined by specialist police from the Crash Investigation Unit.
The driver of the SUV was later arrested at the scene and taken to Goulburn Police Station.
He was charged with predatory driving, use offensive weapon with intent to commit indictable offence, and contravene prohibition/restriction in AVO (domestic).
He was refused bail and is due to appear at Wollongong Local Court later today (Sunday 7).
Police said an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash was continuing.
