Burmese curry = good, Burmese powder not so much as ACT Health has issued a warning that they contain lead and arsenic.

The ACT Government Health Directorate advises the community to avoid the use of Burmese traditional powders at present, while an investigation into their safety is conducted.

These powders are sometimes used to assist digestion or to promote strength in babies.

Thats a weight off my mind!

That which does not kill us makes us stronger.

If high concentrations of poisonous materials in your traditional medicine is of concern to you, can I recommend homoeopathy? The way they make it guarantees that there is nothing in it at all.

Beware of ayurvedic medicines as high levels of Lead, Mercury, and Arsenic in US- and Indian-manufactured ayurvedic medicines sold via the internet. These heavy metals are added as they are believed to be beneficial to health in ayurveda.

Also beware of ayurvedic medicines as they can have arsenic and lead added as heavy metals are believed to be beneficial in ayurvedic medicine: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/18477160

I wonder if these powders are used at the Burmese curry house…
