It’s a turbine – and everyone knows that turbines are LOUD! Not only that, but it’s been installed inside its own concrete house, which everyone knows is really just a BUNKER, like they have in WARS, and WARS are very LOUD and DIRTY. Obviously, this means that lots of Canberrans are going to have a whole heap of LOUD SHOWERS, which will mean less EGGS for her.

This is probably just a further excuse to destroy the pristine Burra Creek wilderness so Canberrans can have 11 showers each/day!

Not much, it will easily pay for itself and then some.
The only problem being it’s only for recovering part of the electricity used to pump the water over the hill in the first place.

Doubt it will power 600 homes. It is designed to recover some of the power used to pump the water up from Angle Crossing. At best it means the pumping costs will be less than they’d be without it.

Very interesting. Tnks for posting it. Enough leccy for 600 homes, brilliant. There was a doco some years ago on a small turbine built in the grounds of some Scottish Lairds joint. I think his was the first ever. On a similar type thing ; those two methane gas powered generators at the Mugga tip, are they very successful ?
