A toddler tragically died after an alleged fall from an all-terrain vehicle in the NSW South West Slopes last month and a man was recently issued a charge over the incident.
NSW Police said at around 3 pm on 6 September, officers were told a two-year-old boy had fallen from an all-terrain vehicle on a rural property on Dudaumana Road in Cootamundra.
Police said while the incident also involved a three-year-old boy, he had not been injured.
However, the younger boy was taken to Cootamundra Hospital where he was declared deceased.
“A crime scene was established with specialist police investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident,” a police spokesperson said.
On Thursday (24 October), police said a 34-year-old man, alleged to be the driver of the vehicle, had been issued a future court attendance notice for dangerous driving occasioning death.
He is scheduled to appear before Cootamundra Local Court on 16 December.
“A report will be prepared for the information of the coroner,” the police spokesperson said.
