Justice and Community Safety have announced the South Australian silk Liesl Chapman SC is going to be the crucial counsel assisting the Board of Inquiry into the conviction of David Eastman for murder.
Ms Chapman, a South Australian barrister, brings a high level of experience to the case through her involvement as Senior Counsel in many complex and lengthy criminal trials, including murder.
In addition, Ms Chapman has been counsel assisting to an inquiry into Children in State Care in South Australia (the Mullighan Inquiry).
Ms Chapman is a member of the Australian and NZ Forensic Science Society since 2005, and has a particular interest and experience in forensic sciences and DNA evidence.
