I still don’t get how it is called the Australian Capital Territory State Emergency Service. – as Thumper has already clarified, its because most people recognise the acronym S.E.S.

The same counter-argument can be used for the Queensland (State) SES, the Tasmania (Rogue-State and Gene Pool rejects dumping ground) SES, the Victoria (State) SES, and so on if you want to be picky.

I’m glad they got their new storm response van thingy. I reckon they deserve as much support as we can give them.

D’you reckon these would be able to operate in conditions where normal vans can’t, say, in a flood? Just looks like a normal workbus to me (but with seating for 7 etc).

And yeah, poor Mr Corbell isn’t the most photogenic guy, is he…
