ACT hosting flu pandemic exercises

ACT Health has started running a large-scale test today to see how ready it is for a flu pandemic.

Over the next few days, the arrival and containment of a new flu strain will be tested.

The organisers say they’re not expecting a pandemic, but want to see how ready they are for one.

ACT Health’s chief health officer Dr Paul Dugdale is stressing that these are exercises only and not a real event.

The Canberra Hospital and several cabinet ministers are apparently taking an “active part” in the simulation.

geez Thumper, what sort of dirty sicko do you think I am.

Now, lesbian flu, hmmm there’s a thought…

I put my complete faith in Katy and the ACT Govt to be able to look after us, or my name isn’t Abraham Lincoln.

not sure whether I would trust anyone in the case of pandemic.

I really do need to go shopping for gas masks and tamiflu.

If a genuine epidemic broke out I suspect there are certain federal agencies that would take over fairly quickly. There are facilities in Canberra (that don’t belong to the ACT govt) that are there for such an event.

thats actually what they are planning… how quickly they can get there leave approved and tickets to somewhere isolated booked.

I’ll bet you London to a brick that they’re all off on holidays when the big one hits.
