ACT records 583 new COVID-19 infections

The ACT has recorded 583 new cases of COVID-19 in the 24 hours to 8 pm yesterday, including 303 identified by PCR and 280 by rapid-antigen tests (RAT).

There are now 82 people in hospital, including two in intensive care and one being ventilated.

Since the pandemic began, 130,664 cases of COVID-19 have been reported in the ACT.

The double-dose vaccination rate for the ACT’s five-plus population remains 97.2 per cent, and 76.4 per cent of residents aged 16 and older have now received a booster.

Of ACT residents aged five to 11, 67.8 per cent have received two doses of vaccine.

Interstate, NSW has reported four deaths overnight and 6,545 new cases of COVID-19.

Victoria has reported 16 deaths overnight and an additional 7,372 cases of COVID-19.
