ACT records 788 new COVID-19 cases

The ACT has recorded 788 new cases of COVID-19 in the 24 hours to 8 pm yesterday, including 422 identified by PCR and 366 by rapid-antigen tests (RAT).

There are now 76 people in hospital, including six in intensive care and one being ventilated.

Since the pandemic began, 111,599 cases of COVID-19 have been reported in the ACT.

The double-dose vaccination rate for the ACT’s five-plus population remains 97.1 per cent, and 75.5 per cent of residents aged 16 and older have now received a booster.

Of ACT residents aged five to 11, 66.2 per cent have received two doses of vaccine.

Interstate, NSW has reported six deaths overnight and 8,891 new cases of COVID-19.

Victoria has reported four deaths overnight and an additional 8,744 cases of COVID-19.
