ACT records 822 new COVID-19 infections and one death

The ACT has reported the death of a man in his 90s and 822 new COVID-19 infections in the 24 hours to 8 pm yesterday, including 465 identified by PCR and 357 by rapid-antigen tests (RAT).

There are now 77 people in hospital, including two in intensive care and one being ventilated.

Since the pandemic began, 130,085 cases of COVID-19 have been reported in the ACT.

The double-dose vaccination rate for the ACT’s five-plus population remains 97.2 per cent, and 76.4 per cent of residents aged 16 and older have now received a booster.

Of ACT residents aged five to 11, 67.8 per cent have received two doses of vaccine.

Interstate, NSW has reported 25 deaths overnight and 7,540 new cases of COVID-19.

Victoria has reported 22 overnight and an additional 8,737 cases of COVID-19.
