The National Capital Authority has the good news that the steadily improving Lake Burley Griffin is now entirely open for swimming and all its other usual activities.

East basin however still carries a medium alert which means some people might exhibit symptoms and all should shower after their swim.

Great! Just in time for winter. Does Canberra have an Icebergs Swimming Club?

And that’s part of the reason why it’s OK.. in the colder weather/water, the algae don’t thrive. This will become more common, algae pollution is as a result of people pollution, and we’s getting more people so our lake will be dirty and nutrient-rich more often.

Don’t give anybody any ideas. It’s crowded enough at the pool in the morning without another swim club starting up.
