Home.byHolly sales agents Ash Costello and Sally Strang first met 20 years ago and formed a firm friendship. They have now teamed up to create a specialised real estate service for the Black Mountain precinct.
Both women were born and bred in Canberra, and they are very serious about real estate sales and service. Their partnership within the Home.byHolly brand brings their considerable energy and passion for the job into a dynamic market where attention to detail can make a real difference on the final sale price.
“Teaming up with Ash was a natural progression,” says Sally. “She is smart, brave and an all-round overachiever.
“Ash is incredible on video and social networks such as Instagram, which helps us connect with our buyers on a more personal level. Together we offer a higher level of service to our clients. We bring great energy, are super competitive, and have so much fun along the way.”

Ash is equally enthusiastic about her new sales partnership with Sally, and sees the advantages of teaming up to present home buyers and sellers with a complete, end-to-end service.
“We’ve been friends for a long time,” says Ash. “When we found ourselves both working in real estate, it made sense to team up.
“Our personalities complement each other well. I find we have a lot of strength together and we’re confident in what we do. It’s a really fast market so you have to be able to keep up with the demand.”
Sally says both women have a love of good design and beautiful houses, and that their longstanding connection with Canberra’s architecture positions them well to optimise marketing campaigns for homes such as 7 Juad Place, Aranda, and the beautiful townhouses at Wybalena Grove.
Their track record includes sales campaigns for architecturally designed homes, including those by Enrico Taglietti, Shannon Battisson, Rob Henry, and designer/builder Gary Willemsen, and heritage-valued homes in Canberra’s inner north such as the Tocumwal Cottages in O’Connor.
The pair is equally attentive to the marketing campaigns for every home they are selling, whether or not they are architecturally designed. The brand’s signature style of marketing includes exceptional photography, styling and listing descriptions that tell the story of a home, not just listing its features.
They both came from a more traditionally structured real estate agency, but were attracted to the Home.byHolly brand’s culture and unique approach to marketing.
“We collaborate with different property stylists, architectural photographers, or whoever we need to achieve maximum engagement in our marketing campaigns and deliver the very best for our sellers,” says Sally.
Ash lives in a Tocumwal Cottage and has focused on sales in Canberra’s inner north, while Sally has been working in Belconnen. They have combined both their expertise and their specialised knowledge of both areas to focus on the Black Mountain precinct which encompasses both regions.
“Sally and I were the first two agents to come onboard with Home.byHolly, and it’s been amazing to see the growth in the agency over five years,” says Ash.
“We’re one of the top agencies in Belconnen, and we’re the leading agency in the inner north.”
Sally agrees. “The results speak for themselves,” she says. “Despite COVID-19, the ACT market is booming. It’s such an exciting time to be working in real estate and we can’t wait to see what this year brings.”
