About Rebecca Vassarotti
Rebecca Vassarotti is an independent consultant who works in the not-for-profit community and health sectors. She is currently the acting Executive Director of the International Network on Hepatitis and Substance Users and serves as a community member of ACT Civil and Administrative Tribunal. She is a board member of Community Housing Canberra, the Early Morning Centre and the Canberra Alliance for Harm Minimisation and Advocacy. She is the chair of the Getaboutable advisory board. She was a founder and inaugural co-chair of the Canberra Gambling Reform Alliance and continues as a member of its Executive. Until March 2017 she was on the Board of the Gambling and Racing Commission, where she advised on the issues of harm minimisation and problem gambling.
Rebecca is one of the ACT Green's candidates in the seat of Kurrajong for the 2020 Territory election.
Prior to establishing her own consultancy business, Rebecca worked as the Deputy CEO at Australian Council of Social Service (ACOSS), a role that came after a long association with the Council of Social Service movement, serving on the Boards of ACOSS and the ACT Council of Social Service. For 10 years Rebecca was Executive Director at the YWCA of Canberra.
