A woman fronted ACT Magistrates Court on Monday (11 July) charged with multiple weapons and drug trafficking offences.
At about 6 pm on Sunday (10 July), members of ACT Policing’s Proactive Intervention and Diversion team executed a search warrant at a Kaleen home.
Inside they located and seized a replica shotgun, replica shotgun cartridges, live shotgun cartridges, live 0.22 rounds, two “conducted energy weapons”, two prohibited knives, commercial-grade fireworks and modified fireworks.
ACT Bomb technicians had to be called in to assess the safety of the fireworks due to their “unknown nature”.
Police said they also seized methamphetamine, cash, phones, a pill press and found documents alluding to the sale and trafficking of a prohibited substance.
A 28-year-old woman, who was on bail at the time of the alleged offences, was arrested. The bail included conditions not to have drugs or firearms (real or fake) in her possession.
She has been charged with a range of offences, including trafficking a controlled drug other than cannabis, possessing prohibited firearms, possessing a drug of dependence, four counts of possessing a prohibited weapon, two counts of possessing ammunition and unauthorised possession of a prohibited dangerous substance.
She will front court again on 1 August.
