Despite it being 14 years since the Brumbies had claimed a win over the Crusaders in New Zealand the team went into the match with a lot of confidence after their dominating display against the Chiefs a few weeks earlier.
However ill-discipline across the park meant the Brumbies were never in the hunt, eventually going down 40-20.
One positive from the match was again an outstanding display by Pat McCabe.
The Brumbies must now re-group for the top of the table clash with the Sharks this Saturday night in Canberra.
