Changes in Camelot?

By YapYapYap - 24 November 2008 12

Word has it that Jon Stanhope has put the cleaners through the ranks of Labor political staffers.

Seems he just doesn’t get the point; the 9 point swing was a vote of  no confidence in him and his Government.

Turning on his workforce simply smacks of denial.

[ED – having said that it’s nice to see an end to the old fortress mentality]

What’s Your opinion?

Bet you the Libs don’t have a clean out.

One would think their advisors would be flogged afetr the election defeat they were handed.

Unattributable word from within the fortress is that people eventully get tired of being shrieked at by an unnamed Chief Minister of an unspecified jurisdiction when things don’t go well.

I like Meredith Hunter’s response to the Le Couteur beat up – “One of the first lines in the agreement is about cooperation and I’m disappointed that Mr Stanhope didn’t take the time to phone me and to have a conversation that would have clarified again for him our position,” she said.

Back on topic …

I thought it was more interesting that Stanhope had to advertise for a new chief of staff – apparantly unable to find anyone from within the fortess. Only a week later, Corbell was advertising for a media advisor.

As for Green LeCouteur writing off a one-page submission a year ago – only Stanhope could see that as a departure from any Party line. Maybe he’s getting desperate.

More interesting, is Green LeCouteur putting the cleaners through her Green credentials on the power station plans. Turncoateur!

Umm – how exactly I-filed? She whipped off a one-pager to Garnault asking why in this day and age with coal and gas power stations everywhere already, would we need to build any more POWER STATIONS based on fossil fuels?

A fair question to ask, and one to which I also subscribe. If anything, it has underlined her credentials as someone who is prepared to take the time to actually make submissions to public consultations.

The Greens opposed the DATA CENTRE on the proposed site – and fair enough. The idea that a massive data centre could fall under the Broadacre Zone provision allowing Communications Facilities (i.e. antennas, dishes and broadcasting towers) is and always has been a deliberate attempt to pervert the intent of the Territory Plan zone conditions.

But you feel free to spin away…

The story is along these lines. Early in the week following the election disaster,er victory, all staff were advised to indicate whether they wanted to apply for adviser positions in the new Government. I understand some staff may have elected to move on and some were tapped on the shoulder, one way or the other.

sounds fairly standard to me.

So Our Beloved Leader [OBL™] gets to choose who stays and who goes?

Sounds like a winner!

Just because it’s propaganda doesn’t mean it isn’t an interesting datum.

Now to hear if there’s anything to it…

AngryHenry 4:58 pm 24 Nov 08

Any political affiliations I might have aside…

This simply smacks of Liberal propaganda.

Go on, bite, I dare ya!

Can you add some detail to this please? Sounds interesting.
